Duane Leo Clark, 77, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, following a lengthy illness. Per Duane’s wishes, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton, is caring for Duane and his family.
Duane was born December 5, 1946, in Urbana, the son of Floyd and Darlene (Kramer) Clark. He was a graduate of Urbana Consolidated High School. Following graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps, graduating from basic training in October 1965. Duane was a proud Marine who served his country during the Vietnam War.
Duane enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing. He was a great mechanic who loved to bring life back to “ailing cars” and get them back on the road.
Duane is survived by his sisters, Diane Long and Lonna (Rick) Gordon; brother, Randy Clark; children, Dawn, Darren, Ashley, and Adam; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and some very close friends who saw him through his illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, John Riffey and Wayne Long; and sister-in-law, Liz Clark.
Memorials may be directed to a veteran’s organization of your choice in Duane’s honor.
