Drahovzal, Anna E.
Anna E. Drahovzal, 93, widow of John B. Drahovzal, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 at her residence in Lexington, Ky.
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Dec. 30, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Kucera. She graduated from Washington High School in 1934 and worked as a bank teller before marrying. Later she was employed for many years as a bookkeeper in her husband's automotive machinist business. She moved to Kentucky in 2005 after living for 90 years in Cedar Rapids.
She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Lexington, a former member of Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids, and a member of the Gideon Auxiliary. She loved reading, baking and travel.
Survivors are a son, Jim and his wife, Becky Drahovzal, of Lexington; three grandchildren, Rob and his wife, Shelley Drahovzal, Grand Forks, N.D., Elizabeth Drahovzal, Clarksville, Tenn., and Sarah Drahovzal, Old Town, Maine; great-grandchildren, Alecia, Ashley and Eric of Grand Forks, Ethan and Elias of Clarksville; and a great-great- granddaughter, Kylee of Grand Forks.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Woody, and a sister, Ruth.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church or Gideons International.
