Dr. Walter “Wally” Scott Schaeffer passed away at his home on Dec. 17, 2022, after being diagnosed terminally ill with stage 4 throat and neck cancer in April 2022, a common cause of death in his family. He had been the last living member of his family for over a decade at the time of his passing. He considered his patients, colleagues and friends his family.
