Dr. Stephen P. Somerville, MD
passed away on January 5th ten years ago today. He worked and taught at Good Shepherd and Regional hospitals during his medical service in Longview, Texas. Stephen and Cameron were both born in Iowa in 1951 and met at Washington High in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They eloped in 1969 while in high school, to the surprise of family and friends. Dr. Somerville attended The University of Texas at Austin and Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Texas. He served for seven years in the U.S. Navy.
Stephen Somerville and his family moved to Longview in 1991, and they lived in Gregg County Texas for twenty years. He is survived by a daughter, Kit and a son, Ted and five wonderful grandchildren.
The ashes of Dr. and Mrs. Somerville will be spread at their home in Austin, Texas.
