DR. KENNETH ANDREW OTTING

Kenneth A. Otting was born in 1931 and passed away on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017.
There will be a memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Whitewater, Wis., by Father Coyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Ida Otting, of Marion, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Dorothy Levassuer; and his sister, Sharon Otting.
Kenneth graduated from Marion High School in 1949, spent two years in the Army, including a year in Korea, and then returned to teach social studies for five years at Marion High School. After receiving his doctorate at the University of Iowa in 1963, he began teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, until his retirement.
He enjoyed life, reading, traveling and his many friends and students.
Memorials may be made to the Kenneth A. and Dorothy A. Otting Scholarship Fund at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
