Doyle, Philip
Philip Doyle, 70, of Hazleton, died Thursday afternoon, Nov. 3, 2011, at West Village Care Center in Independence. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at Floral Hills Chapel in rural Oelwein, with ChaplainVirginia “Ginny” Bass of Cedar Valley Hospice officiating. Visitation: from noon to service time Monday at the chapel. Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery, rural Oelwein.
Philip Doyle was born Aug. 17, 1941, at Rockford, Ill., the son of Donald T. and Ailsa (Smith) Doyle. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Independence, Iowa. Philip was a veteran of the Air Force. He worked in electrical maintenance at Traer Manufacturing Co. in Traer.
Philip enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and was also a member of Bass Masters for several years.
He has been a resident of West Village Care Center since March 2011.
Philip is survived by a son, Don (Kelley) Doyle of Independence; a daughter, Brenda Peyman of Erie, Pa.; a granddaughter, Emily Peyman of Erie, Pa.; two brothers, Jim (Lois) Doyle of Cedar Rapids and Dave (Judy) Doyle of Independence; and two sisters, Kathy Doyle of Newton and Jeannie (Scott) Ferguson of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
