Douglas Arthur Tvedt, 87, passed away at his home on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, surrounded by his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Joseph Sia officiating. The family will gather at the church after 9:30 a.m. Monday. Friends may view the funeral Mass by way of a Zoom link located on Doug's obit page at www.lensingfuneral.com under the Tribute Wall. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, Iowa City Hospice, University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital or St. Patrick's Church.
Douglas Tvedt is survived by his wife, Gail; his seven children, Kevin Tvedt of Iowa City, Iowa, Kimberly (Brian) Biegger of Loveland, Ohio, Lisa (Marty) McLaughlin of Marion, Iowa, Daniel Tvedt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Brian (Denise) Tvedt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kristen (Randy) Olson of Las Vegas, Nev., and John (Roseanne) Tvedt of Stevensville, Md.; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Roberta Scheid of Montour, Iowa, Carol Rinella of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Kathy Casey of Gaffney, S.C.
Douglas Tvedt was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nellie Tvedt; his sister, Virginia Fredericks; and his grandson, Benjamin Tvedt (son of Daniel Tvedt).
