Douglas R. Netolicky, 57, of Cedar Rapids, left his Earthly body on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, 2121 Bowling Street SW. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, at Brosh Chapel, with private family inurnment to follow at Rogers Grove Cemetery.
Doug was born in Ely, Iowa, the son of Richard and Rosella (Murphy) Netolicky. He graduated from Prairie High School in 1986 and received his BA from the University of Northern Iowa in 1992. Throughout his career, Doug was known for his talent in sales and marketing, and for the way he connected with people. With over 35 years of sales experience, he most recently worked as Director of Business Development at Wired Production Group. On January 2, 2003, Doug was united in marriage to Nancy Kahle, with whom he built a loving home and family. He enjoyed being a “Picker” before ‘picking’ was even a thing and was so knowledgeable about a multitude of interests - clocks and watches, military items, vintage ‘finds,’ the financial market, and being able to fix or repair almost anything, thanks to years spent on the heels of his father and grandfather.
Doug was the rock of his family. Confident, independent and strong, yet full of humor, warmth, and an unwavering love for those around him. He endlessly made his loved ones laugh, encouraged them to grow, and lifted them up in times of need. Known for his wit and kindness, he made every room brighter and every friendship deeper.
Doug is survived by his wife Nancy; son Tyler Netolicky; daughter Carlee Netolicky; brothers Dave Netolicky and Dan (Elli) Netolicky, nieces Addison and Mya Netolicky; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Rosella.
Though his time was far too short, the impact of Doug’s love and presence will live on in his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
