Douglas, James 'Jim' Leon
James “Jim” Leon Douglas died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 in Harrison, Ark.
Jim was born July 13, 1951, the son of Harry “Jake” and Christine Aline (Bazzell) Douglas.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Douglas; two daughters and their husbands, Robyn and Rick Cox and Lindsey and Thad Miller, all of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Fonda (Greg) Taylor of Des Moines; and four brothers, Marshall Douglas of Moline, Ill., Cleo “Rudy” (Sue) Williams of Pahrump, Nev., Larry (Susan) Williams of Dayton, Ore. and Harry (Rachelle) Douglas of Plymouth, Ill.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Logan, Jaylea and Kinnick; as well as many special nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, JoAnn (Douglas) Boots; and a brother, Troy Douglas.
Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971, a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at General Mills from 1983, until his retirement in 2011. Jim was a hard worker and was well known for lending a hand when you needed help with a project. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the American Gold Wing Association.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
