Douglas Carl Schott, 68, of Coggon, Iowa, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023. Funeral services for Doug will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the United Parish Church, Coggon, with a visitation for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Coggon Cemetery. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.

Doug was born Aug. 18, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Kenneth and Genevieve (Kleppe) Schott.
Doug is survived by his daughter, Melissa Doyl (Shawn); her sons, Austin and Colton; brother, Marland (Peg); sister-in-law, Cheryl; sister, Diane Harding; four nephews, four nieces, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Edward, and brother-in-law Michael.
The family would like to thank Doug’s care provider Jessica Quinn, Hospice of Mercy, and the staff at Winslow House.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
