DOUGLAS H. BENTLEY

Douglas H. Bentley, 55, of Cedar Rapids, died following a short battle with cancer on Feb. 2, 2017, at Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the funeral home. Doug is survived by his siblings, Darlene Bentley, Deborah (Ricky) Engel, Cindy Clemons, Mark Bentley and Renita (Douglas) Van Dee, all of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Doug was born May 6, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Claude and Shirley (Benesh) Bentley. He was a "self-named" jack-of-all-trades and master of none. Doug had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and playing on his quad. Doug liked to keep himself busy, and he would reach out a helping hand to anyone anytime.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
