Douglas Bann, 78, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, is caring for Doug and his family.
Survivors include his children, Mary Katherine (Richard Stewart) Bann and Ian (Molly) Bann of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Holly, Rolend, Geniva, and Emma; siblings, Virginia Gagnon, Laura Mahoney and Diana Mahoney; niece and nephew, Julie and Scott Dye; and former spouse, Marjorie Vollenweider Everett.
Douglas Jerome Bann was born Jan. 10, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Archie and Violet Lorraine (Torbenson) Bann. Doug lived most all of his life in Cedar Rapids, graduating from Washington High School in 1962. He entered the U.S. Navy serving in Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica and in New Zealand. Doug and Marjorie Vollenweider were married on December 26, 1970. Their family grew to include children Katy and Ian prior to their divorce.
He was a long-time Print Press Worker for Russell Graphics. In his off time, Doug was a car enthusiast, listened to talk radio, and loved the Beatles. Most importantly he was a family man, showering unconditional love on his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Bann and Lorraine Mahoney.
