DOUG EHRLER

Doug Ehrler, 61, of Manchester, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. He was born Oct. 16, 1954, in Manchester, the son of Don and Joyce (Joslyn) Ehrler. He was raised in the Manchester area and graduated from West Delaware High School in 1973.
On Nov. 25, 1978, Doug was united in marriage to Janine Holtz at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. Two children were born to this union. Doug drove for the post office for many years. He then worked for Lillibridge Trucking until 2007 when he retired because of health issues.
Doug enjoyed playing pool and teasing people. He was a people person who was known as "Uncle Doug" to many. Doug loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Survivors include his wife, Janine Ehrler of Manchester; one son, Gabe (April) Ehrler of Greeley; one daughter, Sam Ehrler of Manchester; his mother, Joyce Schiel of Manchester; and four siblings, Susan (Doug) Hart, Sallie (Tim) Vanderhoof, John Ehrler and Gary Ehrler.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Don Ehrler; his stepfather, Walt Schiel; and Ian, his other son by heart.

Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 3, at Greeley Community Church in Greeley with Pastor Pete Buschmann officiating. Visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. Inurnment: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
