DOUGLAS E. BECK
Cedar Rapids
Doug Beck passed away suddenly on March 1, 2021.
Doug was born Feb. 4, 1964, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Ralph and Margo (Johnson) Beck. He was a 1982 graduate of Linn-Mar High School in Marion.
Doug was an avid snow skier and tennis player. He was also a devoted fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Denver Broncos. He loved listening to REO Speedwagon and Guns 'n Roses, and all music from that era. He truly loved all of his nieces and nephews, and especially his grandkids, Lexie, Bentley, Leroy and Anthony Brown.
Doug was preceded in death by his mother, Margo Beck.
He is survived by his father, Ralph (Jan) of Barnes City, Iowa; his brothers, Michael (Jamie) Beck of Columbia, S.C., and Ted (Megan) Beck of Covington, Ky.; his life partner of 17 years, Cheryl Brown of Hiawatha, IA; six nieces and nephews, Chase Beck, Anna DeMoss, and Abigail Beck, Jahn Terralumina, Jennifer (Humberto) Mejia and Megan Beck; and five great-nieces, Adelyn DeMoss, Alissa Johnson, Julie Johnson, Gabriella Mejia and Sophia Mejia.
The family will celebrate Doug's life hopefully in late spring or early summer. Once those arrangements have been made we will let all friends and family know.
