Dorothy Stoner, born April 5, 1923, passed away Dec. 28, 2016, at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Memorial service is Jan. 3 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Walford, where a meet and greet is at 9:30 a.m. and service at 10:30, with a luncheon to follow.
Dorothy was an extremely active and vital woman all her life.
She volunteered at the VA, making lap blankets for the elderly and babies until she was 92. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary for more than 50 years. She worked at Collins Radio and with her husband was involved in two businesses, a bar and a tool sharpening shop. She also worked in lunch programs at Iowa City and Norway and in Amana at the Brick Haus, Red Fox and Derladen until she retired at age 84.
It's a great loss to many people, especially her family.
She leaves behind a living legacy of four generations.
