Dorothy I. Skoog, 86, of Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at the Banner Thunderbird Hospital, Glendale, Ariz. Per Dorothy's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. A private burial will be held in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Born April 21, 1928, in Central City, Iowa, to Melville and Blanche (Oakley) Andrews, Dorothy was an accomplished horticulturalist and was very proud of her flower gardens. Her cooking and sewing talents were exceptional and brought her much joy as did her love for auctions. She was a longtime employee of Sears before her retirement. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her daughters, Diane Minney of Cedar Rapids, Patricia (Alan) Hanson of Robins and Sherlynn (Jeff) Stephens of Glendale, Ariz. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Christopher Hanson of Minneapolis, Minn., Leah Hanson of Marion and Jennifer Stephens of Glendale, Ariz.; and her special friend, Earl Linson of Sun City, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Francis Burl Andrews; and her husband, Ralph Skoog (2004).
