Dorothy M. Ozburn, 95, of Marion, died at Mercy Medical Center on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016. A private graveside service will be held. Visitation will take place from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born Nov. 27, 1920, in Williamsburg, Iowa, to George and Emily (Schmidt) Schwarting. She was united in marriage to Duane Ozburn on Feb. 19, 1946, in Marion. To this union, five children were born.
Dorothy worked as a certified nursing assistant at Crestview Acres for the duration of her career. She was devoted to her husband and children. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Dorothy will be dearly missed by those who loved her.
She is survived by her children, Connie Nielson, Jerry (Deb) Ozburn, Robert (Elaine) Ozburn, all of Marion, Kathy (Richard) Offerman of Central City and Ty (Karen) Ozburn of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Duane, in 1993; sisters, Minerva Forbes and Alice McDaniel; brothers, Elmer "Skip," Milton, Earl and Dick Schwarting; as well as son-in-law, Gary Nielson.
Memorial donations in Dorothy's name may be made to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Mercy Hospice and Mercy Medical Center for the tender love and care shown to Dorothy in her final days. It will never be forgotten.
