Dorothy Allien Myers, 95, of Grand Rapids, Minn., stepped peacefully into the arms of her Savior on
Monday, June 1, 2015, in Grand Village.
She was born near Backus, Minn., on July 9, 1919, to Benjamin and Lena Blair Bagley. Shortly after, they moved to Brandon, Iowa, where she graduated from Brandon High School. Following that, she attended business college in Cedar Rapids.
Dorothy was employed in the continuing medical education office of St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids for many years, retiring in l981.
Dorothy loved to cook, read and go fishing at Pughole Lake with her husband, Osce. She especially enjoyed helping others and loved animals.
She was active in the prayer chain and served as a deaconess at the Alliance Church. She enjoyed Bible study.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Osce Dale Myers; and two brothers, Leland and Virgil Bagley.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Mary (Harry) Corwin of Cohasset, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service at Alliance Church, Grand Rapids. Interment: Itasca-Calvary Cemetery.
