Dorothy Ann Moynihan,
88, of Fairfax, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at her home. Funeral Mass:
10 a.m. Monday at St. John XXIII Catholic Church by the Rev. Dustin Vu. Burial: St. Patrick Cemetery, Fairfax.
A Rosary will be recited at
4 p.m. Sunday at Teahen Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family
following the Rosary until
8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Dennis) Novak of Fairfax; her sons, Jim Moynihan of Denver, Colo., and Gary (Linda) Moynihan of Fairfax; grandchildren, Jennifer Novak, Jeff (Sua) Novak, Michael Moynihan and Nathan Moynihan; great-grandchildren, Gerard and Sophia Novak; sister, Louellen Svec; sisters-in-law, Jane Kadera and Margaret Flaherty; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2012; brother, Kenneth Kadera; and brothers-in-law, Arnold Svec and Robert Flaherty.
Dorothy was born on Aug. 8, 1929, in Oxford, the daughter of Harvey and Annie Jindrich Kadera. She graduated from Oxford High School and on Aug. 7, 1951, she married John Moynihan at St. Mary Catholic Church in Oxford. Dorothy was a member of St. John XXIII Catholic Church.
Dorothy loved watching the Mollie B. Polka Party and the Big Joe Polka Show on TV, and listening to Sunday Morning Czech Party on the radio. She enjoyed taking bus trips to Tama. She was a wonderful housewife and mother and will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
