Dorothy Louise Schulte, 90, of Norway, Iowa, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, at Meadowview Memory Care Village, Cedar Rapids.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway, Iowa, with Father Craig Steimel officiating.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at St. Michael's Parish Hall, Norway. Burial will take place at St. Michael's Cemetery, Norway.

Dorothy Louise was born June 18, 1928, to Matthew and Lydia (Kulhavy) Spellerberg. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Fairfax. On Sept. 13, 1951, she was united in marriage to Ralph "Jim" Schulte. Jim and Dorothy raised their family and farmed together west of Norway. Dorothy also worked as a secretary for Amana Refrigeration and Killian's department store in Cedar Rapids, and retired from South Slope Telephone Company. Following retirement, she continued to work for the Red Fox Paper Den, Amana.
Dorothy was a kind and loving soul who always made time for friends. She instilled great values and taught her family what it truly means to care for others. She was known as "Smiling Dorothy" to her friends at Meadowview and "Bubi" to her grandchildren. Dorothy and Ralph enjoyed traveling to 49 of the 50 states with friends and family. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway; Norway American Legion Auxiliary; and the National Catholic Society of Foresters.
She is survived by her son, Kevin (Kelynn) Schulte of Norway; grandchildren, Kyle (Rachel) Schulte, Carter (Aly) Schulte and Malea Schulte; great-granddaughters, Paige Schulte and Reagan Schulte; brothers, Robert and Matthew Spellerberg; and sister-in-law, Jane Spellerberg.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "Jim" Schulte (2009); three children, Lydia, Mark and Monica; sister, Antoinette (Vernon) Kloubec; brothers, Richard Spellerberg, Bill (Janet) Spellerberg and Clarence (Arlene) Spellerberg.
