DOROTHY KENNEY
Viola
Dorothy "Dot" Fisher Kenney was brought up to be with the good Lord on Monday, March 3, 2014, when she passed away in her home.
Dorothy Jeane Fisher was born Feb. 5, 1938, in Mercer County, Ill., to Glen and Marion Fisher on the family farm. She attended Viola High School in Viola, Iowa. After high school, she married Lyle Kenney and together they had three children. In 1965, they moved their family to Boulder, Colo., and 10 years later they called Loveland home. Dot and Lyle later divorced.
After raising her family, she worked in the real estate business for a few years and eventually retired from the Reporter Herald after 21 years. Dot was a member of Derby Hill Baptist Church where she served and grew in her faith. She enjoyed dancing, entertaining and spending time with friends and family. Dot was also an impeccable housekeeper and known for her great
cooking.
Late in her life, she was blessed to have met Bill, whom she greatly enjoyed dancing and spending time with. Unfortunately, their time together was cut short after Dot's hard fought battle with cancer. Bill faithfully stayed by her side until the Lord called her home.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, John Fisher, Virgil Fisher, Terry Fisher and Danny Fisher.
She is survived her siblings, Jim Fisher (Tracey), Janice Leonard (Jim) and Glenda Mysak (Everett); children, Dennis Kenney (Jen), Roger Kenney and Sharie Biermann (Alan); grandchildren, Michael Kenney, Ryan Biermann (Laura), Preston Biermann (Jacey) and Rebekah; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Jacey, Jayden, MacKenzie and Roman; and best friend, Bill.
A cremation service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, at Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 2500 N, Garfield Ave., Loveland, CO 80538. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service. Private graveside services.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dot's name to a charity of your choice.
