Dorothy "Jeanne" (Aylsworth) Africa, 54, of Clermont, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, May 9, 2016. She died at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn., from complications related to open heart surgery.

She was born July 3, 1961, to Gene and Janet (Dewald) Aylsworth in West Union.

Jeanne graduated from Valley High School in 1979. She attended Waldorf College in Forest City. She graduated from NICC in Calmar with her RN degree, then went on to get her BSN degree from the University of Iowa. She was currently pursuing her master's degree and was a nursing instructor at NICC.

She is survived by her fiance, Scott Bushman of Clermont; dog-child, Virtue; parents, Gene and Gloria Aylsworth of Wadena; mother, Jan Dewald of Guerneville, Calif.; brothers, Ron (Beth) Aylsworth and Greg Aylsworth, both of Wadena; sister, Tricia (Dennis) Whittle of Volga; special "son," Leif (Jen) White of Clermont; special friend, Janet Crandall of Pass Christian, Miss.; three stepchildren; many nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be Friday, May 13, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clermont, and one hour before services at the church on Saturday.

Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elkader, with the Rev. Paul Peters as celebrant. Burial will be at a later date.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clermont, is helping the family with the arrangements.
