Dorothy Irene Imhoff, 97, of Marengo, passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at First United Methodist Church, Marengo, with the Rev. Lisa Crow officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
A memorial fund has been established.
Dorothy is survived by her 11 children, Irene Larimer of Belle Plaine, Doris Jacobs of Marion, Robert (Jan) Imhoff of Atlantic, Harriet (Mark) Kensler of Marengo, Herman (Patricia) Imhoff of Marengo, Richard (Jackie) Imhoff of Cedar Rapids, Jerry (Patsy) Imhoff of Marengo, Julie (Rod) Fisher of Belle Plaine, Tom (Linda) Imhoff of Sweet Water, Tenn., Bonnie Oxley of Cedar Rapids and Dennis (Cindy) Imhoff of Marengo; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Antone H. Imhoff; two sons, Antone Eugene and David; two grandsons, Timothy Imhoff and Billy Larimer; two great-granddaughters, Eldora Mae and Alyssa Raelyn Imhoff; a special niece, Loretta Roseman; two brothers, John and Andon Beard; two sisters, Emma Beard-Sparrowgrove and Minnie Beard-Sparrowgrove; two half brothers, George and Leonard Hinkle; and a son-in-law Russell, Jacobs.
Dorothy Irene Beard was born Oct. 24, 1920, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Hankammer Beard. She received her education in the country schools around North English. Dorothy was united in marriage to Antone Imhoff on Dec. 24, 1936, in Marengo. She enjoyed gardening and canning, making comforters, embroidering and going on Sunday afternoon drives. In her later years, she liked to play dominos and color. Dorothy loved all of her family dearly and also enjoyed caring for them.
