Dorothy Sophia Garringer, 91, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at her home.
She is survived by six children, Donna (Glen) Salyer of Andalusia, Ala., John (Helen) Garringer of Van Horne, Marie (John) Eberhardt of Montrose, Alan Garringer of North English, Rand (Sharry) Garringer of Marengo and Jayne (Alex) Garcia of North English; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Verne Bendorf of Tennessee; and a sister, Judy Lawson of Marengo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; granddaughter, Anita; two brothers, Julius Bendorf and Theodore Fritz; and two sisters, Mary Ann Garringer and Martha Fritz.
Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 8, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Williamsburg. Burial will be in Yankee Point Cemetery, rural North English. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.
