Dorothy I. Emmons, 96, died Monday, March 31, 2014, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Private family graveside services will be held at the Clarence Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.
Survivors include her son, Kim (Sandy) of Orion, Ill.; grandchildren, Kyle (Christina) of Coal Valley, Ill., Koby (Heather) of St. Charles, Mo., and Dan Kreinbring of Los Angeles; and great-grandchildren, Kole, Kade, Kaleb and Hattie Rae Kreinbring.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son, Keel Kreinbring; and sister, Helen Hasselbusch.
Dorothy was born Aug. 30, 1917, to Robert and Pearl Baughman Kelly in Clarence. She married Ray Kreinbring on Feb. 29, 1937, in Clarence. He died in 1966. She later married Floyd Emmons.
Dorothy was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence and belonged to the Order of the Easter Star. She loved to travel, antique and dig in the dirt. Her most treasured possession (excluding her antiques and shoes) was her family. Dorothy was #1 to all who loved her. She was a fantastic mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, daughter, sister, friend and mother-in-law, the very best.
