Dorothy E. (Haman) Hosch, 80, of Swisher, died on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy of metastatic renal kidney cancer. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St., SW. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Dorothy Ellen was born March 31, 1943, in Iowa City, the daughter Vincent and Dorothy (Rohret) Haman. She graduated from Cosgrove High School in 1961. Over the years,she was employed by Collins Radio and Square D in Cedar Rapids, and later retired from The Gazette in 2008.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Gary; her daughters, Theresa (Jeff) Blair, Kristina (Brad) Ferguson and Maria (Jae) Brandon; grandchildren, Emily (Tony) Marcovich, Clint (Cydney) Ferguson, Joshua (Shayne) Ferguson, Levi Ferguson and Lindsey (Josh) Birch; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Clara, Callie and Caelynn Ferguson, and Amelia and Dominic Marcovich; her siblings, Mary (Chuck) Porto, Ray (Ellen) Haman, Vince (Sue) Haman and Linda Rohret; as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
