Dorothy DeGood, 96, of Middle Amana, passed Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, in Amana. Funeral services are at noon Monday, Jan. 28, at the Middle Amana Church. Burial: Middle Amana Cemetery. Visitation: 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Jan. 28, at the Middle Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to the Amana Church Society.
Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Diane (Norman) Bennett, Tennessee, and Marian Warren, Montana; four grandchildren, Michelle (Matthew) McGuire, Tennessee, Allan Bennett, Tennessee, David (Bridget) Moore, Missouri, and Shannon (Jeremy) Hindahl, Illinois; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin McGuire, Linnea McGuire and Asher Hindahl.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 2001; her parents; and a brother, John Reihman.
Dorothy Reihman was born on May 12, 1922, in Middle Amana, to Emil and Mary Oehl Reihman. She graduated from the Amana High School in 1939. Dorothy married Ralph J. DeGood on Dec. 14, 1941. She worked for the Amana Society main office, the Woolen Mill and the Post Office. She also worked alongside her husband in his plumbing business. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, gardening and keeping a clean home.
