Dorothy J. Chase, 83,
of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at
St. Luke's Hospital after
a long illness. Memorial services at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call from 5 to
8 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Bruce; and a daughter, Caroline (Gary) Wendel of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David; and a daughter, Sally Webber.
Dorothy was born Oct. 11, 1931, in Reinbeck, the daughter of Forrest and Sara Link Millikin. She married Bruce A. Chase on June 6, 1949. Dorothy was co-owner of Sunline Inc. with her husband and retired in 1999 after many years of service.
Dorothy enjoyed reading, fishing, flying and piloting her own plane. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends at their home in Montrose overlooking the Mississippi River. Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Luke's Hospice or to the charity of the donor's choice.
