Doris Elaine Waddell, 86, entered Heaven's gates peacefully Monday, July 31, 2017, with her family by her side. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Doris was born in Oakville, Iowa, on April 9, 1931. She married Don Waddell on Jan. 7, 1949.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Linda (Jim) Hickey of Mount Vernon; son, Rick (Brenda) Waddell of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, in 1990; son, Steve, in 2016; brother, Harold; sister, Joyce: and granddaughter, Alicia.
Private graveside service will be held at a later date at Oakshade Cemetery in Marion.
In lieu of flowers, Doris requested that memorials be directed to Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you for the wonderful care at Hallmark Care Center in Mount Vernon and also to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
