Doris Milane, 94, of Broomfield and Erie, Colo., formerly of Iowa City, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 11,
2018.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Tamara Milane and husband, Dennis Schouten, of Broomfield, Colo., Lynne Milane and husband, Ronald Richter, of Erie, Colo.,; son, Russell Milane of Amana, Iowa; grandchildren, Joshua and Joseph Milane and Meridith Richter; great-grandchild, Mirabella Milane; sisters, Geraldine Rushek and Jean Petrzelka; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Boddicker, Carole Boddicker, Kathy Boddicker and Marillis Boddicker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mathias and Evalena Boddicker; son, Gregory Milane; daughter-in-law, Diane Milane; sister, Dolores Agee; brothers, Kenneth, David, Gerald, Matt and James Boddicker; sisters-in-law, Arlene Boddicker (Kenneth) and Arlene Boddicker (Gerald); and brothers-in-law, John Rushek and John Petrzelka.
Doris Evelyn Boddicker was born on July 7, 1923, in Watkins, Iowa. She married Edward Milane on Sept. 5, 1945, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Norway, Iowa. She was a homemaker for many years. Later, she worked as a quality control specialist at Oral B Labs in Iowa City, Iowa, retiring from there in 1988.
A faithful Catholic her entire life, she was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters. Doris was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was the center of her life and her favorite activity was spending time with them.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, followed by burial at Saints Patrick and Paul Cemetery, Watkins, Iowa. Please share condolences at www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com.
