Doris "Jean" Biedenbach of Troy Mills passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016, in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with burial immediately following in the Garden of Tranquility.
Jean was born in rural Cedar County on Aug. 27, 1942, to Aliban and Verna (Brink) Bieber. She attended country school and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1960. She married Robert "Bob" Biedenbach on Sept. 19, 1964. Jean enjoyed tending her perennial gardens and sharing plants with anyone who needed some. She was especially proud of having over 2,200 narcissus blooms in recent years and many different kinds of hostas. She also was an avid sewer and quilter and enjoyed making quilts and wall hangings for many family members.
Jean is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Robert (Noella) Biedenbach Jr. of Filer, Idaho, Lisa (Jeffrey) Breja of State Center and Deana (Kent) Benson of Woodstock, Md.; and 10 grandchildren.
