Doris "Jackie" Finn, 92, died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Oaknoll Health Center.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Sam Massey officiating. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or Friends of the Animal Center Foundation.
Jackie was born Jan. 26, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Walter and Juanita Childs Jackson. She received a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Iowa. On Dec. 27, 1953, Jackie married M. Richard Finn in Quincy, Ill.
Jackie was a social worker at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for 35 years, retiring in 1988.
Her memberships included First Presbyterian Church, League of Women Voters, Mercy Hospital Guild and Consultation of Religious Communities.
Jackie was an avid Hawkeye and West High Trojan supporter. She enjoyed the mountains of Colorado, Saturday adventures with Ellen, spending time with family and friends, and had a love of animals.
The family extends their appreciation to everyone at Oaknoll and Iowa City Hospice.
Jackie is survived by her children, Ellen (Bruce) Rausch of Coralville and John (Patricia) Finn of Olathe, Kan.; son-in-law, Kirk Neustrom of Iowa City; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Elizabeth, Laura, Katherine, Sarah, Michael, Benjamin, Melvin and Andrew; and four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Liam, Collin and Elyse.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Amy Neustrom; and two siblings, Thomas Jackson and Elizabeth Nickless.
