Doris E. Kemmann, age 89 of Clarence, passed away in her home on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 10 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stanwood at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Dr. Andrew Watkins officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 9 from 4-6 P.M. at Chapman’s in Clarence. Burial will be in the Clarence Cemetery.
Doris was born January 6, 1935 in Winfield, IA to Hoyt and Lena (Davis) Rickey. She married Richard Kemmann on June 25, 1960 in Winfield. He passed away in 1981.
She is survived by her son Rickey “Rick” (Vikki Steele) of Cedar Rapids and Royce (Stephanie Zinn) of Sac City, IA; granddaughter Melanie Kemmann of Port Hueneme, CA; brother Randall (Roberta) Rickey of Colorado Springs, CO; 2 nephews; and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother Harold.
Doris was an elementary school teacher all her life, and after retirement traveled extensively. Earlier in life she was an E.M.T. and was one of the founding members of the Clarence Ambulance. Doris also enjoyed quilting, playing bridge, and reading.
Memorials may be left in her honor to either Camp Courageous or Friends of the Animals in Tipton.
