Doris Burkhart, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away April 12, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. There will be no services or visitation per Doris' wishes.
Survivors include a son, Jay Burkhart of Marion, a daughter, Janelle Burkhart (Steve) of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Anthony and Amber, both of Cedar Rapids; great-granddaughter, Luna of Cedar Rapids; and sister, Darlene Moseley of Austin, Texas.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; and a brother, Donald.
Doris Jean Burkhart was born March 1, 1931, in Blairstown, the daughter of Ernie and Leona Schutterle Eckert. Doris was united in marriage with Jack Burkhart on Nov. 26, 1955. She worked as a secretary at Collins Radio and later was a dedicated homemaker.
She enjoyed playing bridge, dining out with friends and relatives, watching football and spending time with family.
Doris was a wonderfully loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Memorial donations may be directed to Camp Courageous in Doris' memory.
