Doris M. Becker, 85, of Grundy Center, formerly of Garrison, died Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 26, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Vinton. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton and one hour before Mass Thursday at the church. Interment: Garrison Cemetery.
Doris is survived by her son, Robert (Deb) Becker of Grundy Center; two sisters, Lois (Roy) Hess of Oskaloosa and Alice (Sam) Kool of Eddyville; one brother, Ralph (Janice) Van Zante of Blanco, Texas; two step-granddaughters; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vincent, on Aug. 21, 2002; and a son, Michael, in 2014. Michael will be inurned with his mother at the cemetery on Thursday.
Memorials: Garrison Fire Department or the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit.
