Doolin, Burdell Moreland
Burdell Moreland Doolin, 47, son of Emma Jean Turner and Emmit Eugene Doolin, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, of a sudden illness. Services: 1 p.m. Friday, Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1200 Second Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Dr. Sherman Brown. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, 1844 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Christine Arenas Doolin; children, Marcos, Morena, Christian and Colten Cox, Garson Hiles, Jordan, Kayle, Burdell Jr. and Marissa Doolin; twin grandsons, Garson Jr. and Gabriel; his brothers and sisters, Kyle Doolin, Derek Doolin, Louisia (Eric) Harrison, Lori Doolin, Donna Jackson, Dedric Doolin, Aaron Doolin, Emmit (Michelle) Doolin, Regina Doolin, Steven Doolin-Bacon, Stephanie Doolin-Bacon, Adrienne Doolin-Howard and Doreen Collins; and many loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Madeline Doolin.
Burdell was born Aug. 7, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a stay-at-home dad for his three youngest children. Burdell enjoyed spending time with his family. He had a passion for music and grilling out for his family.
