Donovan's life was tragically cut short on Friday, March 4, 2016, at the young age of 46, in Tempe, Ariz.
He was born in Grand Forks, N.D. He graduated from Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids. He received further education at Kirkwood Community College and Mount Mercy in math and science. He worked for the past 22 years at the Duane Arnold Nuclear Plant enjoying his job and co-workers.
He loved boating and spending time in his RV at Coralville Lake with family and friends. He loved downhill skiing. He enjoyed cooking and was very good at it. He was devoted to his family and had a most generous spirit. He will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his son, Jordan of Palo; and daughter, Rachel of Cedar Rapids; his parents, Linda and Dean; his sisters and their families, Kristen and Rod Vick and their daughter, McKenzie, and their son, Trevor; and Tara (Arneson) and Alonso Cruz of Cedar Rapids.
A celebration of his life memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, 1000 Third Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, officiated by Pastor Steve Knudson. A lunch will follow at the church to share memories of Donovan's life from 4 to 6 p.m.
