Donohoe, Danna Lu
Funeral services for Danna Lu Donohoe, 81, of Stanwood, who died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Mercy Hospital Hospice Care Unit, Iowa City, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mechanicsville, with Father David Hitch officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with a rosary at 3:30 p.m., before the visitation. Burial will be at St. Bridget's Catholic Church Cemetery, Nolan Settlement, Solon.

Danna Lu was born Aug. 10, 1931, in Tipton, the daughter of Daniel Mowry and Lucile (Morden) Mowry. She graduated from Tipton High School. She and John Donohoe were married April 27, 1949, in Tipton. They made their home in West Liberty and Clarence, before moving to their family farm and home near Stanwood in 1960. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mechanicsville. Danna Lu was a loving, caring, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and all her relatives and friends who she cared so deeply for.
Survivors include her six children, Rebecca and husband Patrick Hensel, Iowa City, Sandra and husband Thomas Bianciotto, Chicago, Karen and husband Patrick “P.J.” Walsh, Chicago, John Donohoe and his friend, Kathi Bates, Stanwood, Thomas Donohoe, Mechanicsville, and Tracy and husband J. David Maher, Decorah; her 13 grandchildren, Erin and husband Kiran Krishnan, Jeffrey and wife Kimberly Hensel, Thomas, Laura, Matthew and John Bianciotto, Kevin, Brian and Mary Walsh, Anne and husband Mason Budelier, Hannah, Mary Kathryn and Kelsey Maher; her two great-grandchildren, Nolan Hensel and Izak Krishnan; brother, Robert and wife Elaine Mowry, Parnell; and sister-in-law, Nancy Donohoe, Tipton
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; her brother, William; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The family wants to thank Above and Beyond Home Health Care/Hospice Care, Monticello, and Prairie Hills Assisted Living, Tipton, for the loving care they have given to Danna Lu for the past several years.
