Donnelly, Mary Anne
Cedar Falls, Norma Chiaramonte of Cedar Rapids, Velma (Mick) McMahon of Dubuque and Janet (Jack) Felderman of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Anne was born in Cascade, Iowa, on Dec. 20, 1925, daughter of Leo and Loretta Soppe. She married John Lane Donnelly on Sept. 2, 1948, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, John, in January 2003. They were married for 54 years.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, infant Patricia Sue in October 1951 and Elizabeth Donnelly Schultz in May 2005; and a sister, Wilma Nugent in February 2003.
Our kind, loving, and courageous mother will be greatly missed. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her great laugh and sense of humor. She had an incredibly positive attitude and was an inspiration to our family and all who knew her.
The Donnelly family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to those who provided care for our mother, especially Dr. Melanie Stahlberg, Dr. Edwin Stone, The Caregivers and Hospice of Mercy. A special thank you to her numerous friends who provided many laughs and great memories.
Mary was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Due to renovation, her funeral service will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 120 Fifth St. NW (located on the corner of First Avenue and Fifth Street NW), Cedar Rapids.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Matthew Church, Camp Courageous, Monticello, Iowa, or Hospice of Mercy.
Mom, we're so happy you're now with your “Ever Lovin.'”
