Donna Mae Moss was born July 3, 1930, in Iowa City, the daughter of Claude E. and Elsie M. (Fletcher) Moss. She had been a lifetime resident of this area, attending Iowa City schools, where she was with the Class of 1948 at City High School. The Moss family dairy farm was an important part of her entire life. Many good memories as a young child to days not that long ago were cherished by Donna and her family. She married Gerald A. Walkup on March 27, 1954. The couple made their home here, where they spent the rest of their lives. Donna not only took care of the homefront and kids, and raising her gardens, but she enjoyed supporting Gerald in his interest in Navy reunions and Trapper Association events.
Her family includes her three children, Constance Walkup, Robert Walkup and Dennis Walkup.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; her parents; and her siblings, Eldon Moss, Ken Moss and Jean Schenk.
Donna's family would like to thank everyone at Windmill Manor and Hospice Compassus for the extremely sincere and excellent care that was provided to Donna and their family while she stayed there.
