DONNA LOU RHOADS Marion Donna Lou Rhoads, 90, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, under hospice care. Per Donna's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 28, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, where a Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Dr. Howard Chapman. Donna is survived by her husband of 70 years, Russell of Marion; her children, Duane (Terry) Rhoads of Fairfax, Judy (Fred) Weber of Marion and Trudy (Jack) Smith of Marion; five grandchildren, Amy (Ben) Janda, Kyle (Nicole) Rhoads, Erin Weber, Tim (Stephanie) Smith and Matthew Smith; eight great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Deanna Schnipkoweit, Doris (Dick) McAtee, Dale (Darlene) Coppess, Delbert Coppess, Darrell (JoAnn) Coppess and Darlene Flockhart. She was preceded in death by her parents; three grandchildren, McKeon and Wesley Weber and Robert Russell Smith; brother, Donald and his wife, LuAnn Coppess; and a brother-in-law, Robert Flockhart. Donna was born May 23, 1927, in Stanwood, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Violet (Fairley) Coppess. On March 30, 1947, she was united in marriage to Russell Rhoads in Stanwood. Donna was a member of Farm Bureau, Stanwood United Methodist Church and the First Presbyterian Church of Marion. Memorials may be directed to St. Luke's Hospice or Camp Wyoming, Iowa.
