Donna M. (Fuessley) Northrup, 80, of Hiawatha, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. A memorial service celebrating Donna's life will be 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, with Cedar Memorial Certified Celebrant Jim Parton officiating. A visitation will be before the service from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include her children, Vicki (Nikos) Nikolaidis of Island of Crete, Greece, and Susan (Dean) Jacobson of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Heather (Dave) Stanley, Kyle Raddatz, Trent Raddatz, Alex Jacobson, Kleo Nikolaidis and Natalie Nikolaidis; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kurtis Stanley; daughter-in-law, Vicki Fuessley; and her beloved poodle, Penny.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jeanette Krouse; and her son, Kurt Fuessley.
Donna was born March 14, 1935, the daughter of Julian and Daisy (Hentschel) Northrup. She graduated from Young School of Beauty Culture in 1964. Donna owned and operated a beauty salon in Alburnett and in her home outside of Troy Mills for many years. She was a talented seamstress and crafter, participating in many craft shows over the years, and also enjoyed baking, cake decorating, reading and spending time with her family, friends and little companion, Penny.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
