Donna M. Newhard, 68, of Cedar Rapids, quietly joined the Lord Friday, April 17, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation
Service, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Pastor John Louk. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Roger; children, Lonn and Deborah (Bryon); stepchildren, Kathy (Ray), Cherie, Daniel and Brian; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Alden (Paula); nephews, Brian (Trish) and Stephen (Tammy); niece, Lori (Steve); and five great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepson, Philip.
Donna was born Oct. 28, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Alden and Gertrude (Baldwin) Andersen. She attended Washington High School. Donna worked for Mercy Medical Center for 14 years and later at Gentle Dental as a sterilization technician.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. Donna enjoyed her flower garden and their pond.
She was a kind and caring person, caring about everyone. Donna had a wonderful sense of humor, was always smiling and never said an unkind word, and she loved her pets.
Memorials may be directed to the Salem United Methodist Church building fund.
