Donna Jean Miller, 67, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, in her home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughter, Leanne (Billy) Willingham; grandsons, Gavin and Aiden Willingham, all of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Lorie (Jason) Kerkman of Cedar Rapids; ex-husband and close friend, Ronald Miller of Cedar Rapids; nephews, Eddie Eis and Donnie Eis Jr.; niece, Tabitha Eis; great-nieces, Gracie Emig, Gabrielle Eis and Lindy Eis; lifelong friend, Vicki Hrdlicka of Cedar Rapids; very close friend, Wendy Rogers of Cedar Rapids; and two spoiled dogs, Ellie and Maddie.
Donna was preceded in death by father, Walter Eis; mother, Ruby Eis; and twin brother, Donald Eis.
Donna was born on Oct. 17, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Walter and Ruby (Higbee) Eis. She graduated from Jefferson High School, Cedar Rapids. Donna was a wonderful mom, grandma and friend to many. She married Ronald Miller on July 22, 1967, at St. James Church, Ellis Blvd., Cedar Rapids. Donna was employed at Taft Middle School as the food service manager for almost 30 years. Taft was her second family and she was very proud to be employed there for so many years. Donna had a love for line dancing for 15- plus years. Her close friends were members of a group called "Bootin' Buddies," and some of them practiced every Thursday at Donna's house. She loved spending time with her two grandchildren and was beyond excited about the arrival of granddaughter baby Kerkman in January 2016.
