Donna Mae McAtee, 80, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 27, 1934, in Iowa City, to Frank and Mary (Parbs) Poulson. On Jan. 10, 1953, she was united in marriage to Donald McAtee in Cedar Rapids. He preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 2014.
Donna was employed at Amana Refrigeration before her retirement. She was a member of the Van Horne American Legion Auxiliary. Donna loved playing cards and mushroom hunting. Following her retirement, she enjoyed her annual bus tours.
She is survived by her children, Doug of Toledo, David of Van Horne, Denise Knudtson of Palo and Diana Dawes of Van Horne; her daughter-in-law, Janet McAtee of Kentucky; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Nadine (Jim) Anderson of Sumner.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Dale; her son-in-law, Gene Knudtson; two infant great-grandchildren; three brothers; and three sisters.
Her family wants to thank Laura "Red" Robinson, Hospice of Mercy, Virginia Gay Clinic and Phillips Funeral Home.
To honor Donna's wishes, she was cremated and private committal services will be held at the Center Point Cemetery with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.phillipsfuneralhomes.com.
