Donna Mae Meier, 86, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 13, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden with Rev. Daniel Redhage officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Donna was born May 9, 1937, in Lowden to Elmer and Velma (Kintzel) Schluter. She married Donald Meier on Aug. 5, 1956, at Trinity Lutheran in Lowden. He passed away on April 9, 2016.
Survivors include her sister Doris Taylor of Macomb, Ill.; nieces Kelly Keithley, Cindy Burken, Crystal Meier, Becky Bush, and Kris Mader; nephews Jeff Meier, Steve Meier, David Bush, and Jon Bush; brother-in-law Norman Meier; sisters-in-law Kennethea Meier and Madelyn Meier; and many great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers-in-law Arnold Meier and Fred Meier; and Betty and Francis Bush.
After graduating from Lowden High School in 1955 she was employed by the Lowden Consolidated School as the superintendent’s secretary for 26 years. She also was employed by the Lowden Dental Office for seven years and Kemmann Chevrolet for 25 years.
Memorials in Donna’s name may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or mailed to Jeff Meier at Box 368 Clarence, IA 52216.
