Donna Mae Funk, 87, of Vinton, Iowa, died Sunday, September 22, 2024. A visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point, Iowa. Funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Todd Hart officiating. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker, Iowa.
Donna was born December 22, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Robinson) Rodman. She graduated from the Cedar Rapids Community School District and briefly attended Northwestern University. Donna was united in marriage to Larry Lee Funk on October 1, 1958, in Cedar Rapids. She dedicated her life to raising her children. Donna was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church of Cedar Rapids.
Donna was the quintessential farm wife and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her special companion, her dog, Buddy; her husband of 65 years, Larry Lee Funk of Vinton, Iowa; children, Steven (Irma) Funk of Vinton, Michael Funk of Helena, Arkansas, Kristin (Greg) Hallberg, and Jeffrey (Monica) Funk, all of Vinton; sisters, Virginia (Marvin) Shaffer of Marion, Iowa, and Judy (Mick) Ransome of Central City, Iowa; sister-in-law, Alleen Rodman of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Donald Rodman.
