Donna Mae Balk, 76, of Guttenberg, Iowa, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021. She was born on Aug. 5, 1945, in McGregor, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Edith (Ferguson) Miler.
Donna received her education locally and graduated from Guttenberg High School in 1963. On July 3, 1965, Donna was united in marriage with Jerry Balk at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guttenberg.
Donna was called to heaven ahead of her husband of over 56 years, Jerry; granddaughter, Ashley (Matt) Wimmer; son-in-law, Tom Schlueter; siblings, Dayton (Sue) Miller, Marion (Charlotte) Miller, Daniel (Jean) Miller, Owen (Carol) Miller, Dianne Knockel, Denise Boardman, Betty (Tom) Thompson, Davey Miller and Susanne (Jay) Westemeier; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Julie Schlueter; and three brothers, Merlin, Jerry Lee and Walter Miller Jr.
Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, 207 S. First St., Guttenberg, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, Iowa. Funeral service will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating.
