Donna M. Kendall, 80, of rural Drakesville, died at 2:30 a.m. June 26, 2018, at home.
She was born April 1, 1938, in Ottumwa to Herbert C. and Marjorie V. Buchanan Leon. She married Tommy W. Kendall on Sept. 2, 1956.
A 1956 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Donna had lived in Atkins, Cedar Rapids, Keystone and Ottumwa before moving to rural Drakesville in 1980.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and quilting for family and friends and especially enjoyed making clothes for her grandchildren.
She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was involved in various ministries with the church. Donna enjoyed collecting and going on Longaberger basket trips.
Surviving are her husband, Tommy; her sons, Mel (Valli) Kendall of Drakesville and Kelly (Janice) Kendall of Luzerne, Iowa; four grandchildren, Kandi (Rich) Martin of Texas, Tami (Eric) Hibbs of Kansas, Heidi (Willi) Slischewski of Germany and David Kendall of Cedar Rapids; nine great-grandchildren, Lizzie, Ophelia, Sophia, Malia, Cordelia, Olivia, Huxley, Maddie and Mariah; and two sisters, Dorothy (Chuck) Toomey and Wilma Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Leon.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Ottumwa with her son, Pastor Mel Kendall, officiating. Burial will be in Baer Cemetery in Davis County.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or Hospice Serving Davis & Wapello Counties.
