On February 11, 2025, Donna Lee Murphy (nee Netolicky) passed away peacefully. Donna was a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids Iowa before moving to Shellsburg Iowa in 1996.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband William Sr. and her brother Dennis George Meyers.
Through marriage to William, she was blessed with his children and is survived by: Bill Murphy, Jr., Patty Phelps, Steven Murphy, Craig Murphy, Colleen McGinty, Daniel Murphy, Michael Murphy, Deanna Yoder, Mary Murphy, their spouses, children, and grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces Amy Muntz, Julie Romano, nephew John Meyers and many cousins.
Born March 5, 1936, to Donald D. and Henriette M. Netolicky of Cedar Rapids Iowa. She was a life member of the American Trapshooting Association. She was also chosen to be on the “All American Trapshooting Team.” At that time, she was first runner up in the North American Continent for her shooting abilities.
A 1954 graduate of Franklin High School and also attended Coe College and Kirkwood College. A member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Cedar Chapter No. 184 of Cedar Rapids and past Worthy Matron and past Grand Page of the Worthy Grand Matron of Iowa. She was also a member of the Sorosis Club of Shellsburg, Iowa. She was a past member of the White Shrine and Women’s Club of Cedar Rapids.
Donna was employed in the office of Dr. H.N. Polance, D.O. for 38 years. She also was the Demo Coordinator for Hy-Vee and worked at CPO Travel Agency.
Donna attended Grace Trinity Church in Shellsburg Iowa. She will be buried with her beloved, William Sr in Czech National Cemetery.
